We heard the chef has over 25 years experience (in Michelin star restaurants too) and you can tell. The food was absolutely incredible. So flavoursome and looked incredible. What I also liked, was how the owner who took our order asked us about spice levels we liked so they could be accommodated. For example, my husband likes lots of spice, I am quite mild as is my 8 yo daughter. These were noted and accommodated! Incredible service. My daughter said the chicken lollipops were the best she has ever tasted. Well done Lapsi Spice, we will definitely be back with friends. Without a doubt, we recommend this venue 5 stars. ”

“ Lapsi Spice is fairly new, and, with its narrow frontage, a bit of a hidden gem in Derby's Midland Rd/London Rd curry belt. Run by ex-pat Nepalis, it is simply but effectively decorated and has a lovely friendly atmosphere. Prices are a bit higher than the local average, but the food is excellent, and well worth the premium. We will be going back! ”

“ Best Indian/Asian cuisine I've had in the UK by far. The Indian menu is separate from the main menu and you may need to ask. Being used to Indian cuisine around the world. I'm not a fan of the sweet curries in the UK. But ask for the Indian style and you get some of the best flavourful food you can get. Garlic Naan was fresh, crispy and flavourful. Excellent. Will definitely be back. Service was great as well. ”

The food and Nepalese host were exceptional and I cannot fault the reviews this restaurant has had from customers. I can only speak for my own meal, but the Chilli Fry Chicken Momo starter was a soft dumpling packed with chicken and a great heat of chilli. The Himalayan lamb was very succulent with plenty of lamb and accompanying sauce with some great flavour combinations and touches of ginger and coriander, and the side of garlic naan was the softest I've tasted. Yes, the food covers many nations, but from my own experience, the food flavours are some of the best I've experienced. ”
